On this bright sunny afternoon Alain and I posed in the front of the gigantic bronze fountain globe highlighting the central square of the World Trade Center. The Twin Towers were overwhelmingly big and I felt a vertigo sensation. From the slim Venetian - Gothic arches anchored at the bottom of the towers, I let my eyes roam over hundred floors, reaching the sky thirteen hundred feet above. The towers’ impressive forty-three thousands windows were beaming light like a futuristic sculpture well above the New York skyline. I could not help but think that these towers, built from the dream of the Rockefeller’s were the true symbolism of capitalism. |
